Verizon roaming updating

These instructions are for Verizon customers only: It is important to perform a PRL (preferred roaming list) update on your cellular phones (including blackberry and other mobile devices) at least every three months.Carrier settings updates let your carrier provider update carrier network and related settings to improve cellular network connectivity and performance. All Verizon and Sprint EVDO modems have a Preferred Roaming List (or PRL) embedded in the card. This list tells your card which towers to look for when establishing connection, including towers from other carriers that Sprint/Verizon has roaming agreements with. Here’s the Facts: 6T has no IP rating (don’t get it wet), No dual speakers, No Wireless charging, 402 ppi vs Apple 458 ppi, 2X2 MIMO Wi Fi vs Apple 4x4.So yes it should be cheaper, but the specs are not the same.

To see additional carrier information, tap the version number.

You can also update the PRL on Verizon or Sprint by dialing a *22899 from your phone or PC Card.

We have a thread you can subscribe to at EVDO Forums so that you'll receive all the latest PRL news.

As new EVDO towers are installed or new roaming agreements are reached, your PRL will become out of date because it won't know to hunt for these new towers.

You may be in an EVDO area, but if your card doesn't have the tower in the list, it won't know to attempt to connect to the new tower!
